Normally, the Southern Steel 1030 Automatic Deadlock should not require adjustments after being properly installed. Maintenance tips for all Southern Steel locks is provided in the General Maintenance Guidelines. Review these guidelines before attempting to trouble shoot the 1030.

The 1030 Automatic Deadlock is virtually maintenance free once properly installed.  When servicing lock, check for deadlocking when the door is closed (i.e., the hook bolt should have minimal movement when door is closed and locked).  Failure to deadlock may be caused by improper installation of lock or door.
